In a recent exclusive interview with ANI, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing criticism against the Congress party, alleging that its government in Karnataka had prior knowledge of the obscene video allegations against suspended JD-S leader Prajwal Revanna.
Shah claimed that despite being aware for months, the Congress-led government did not take any action against Revanna until after the voting for Lok Sabha polls in Vokkaliga-dominated areas had ended.

Shah specifically pointed fingers at Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, and state Home Minister G Parameshwara, holding them responsible for Revanna’s ability to flee the country.
The allegations come amidst a political storm over Revanna’s departure, with some opposition parties accusing the BJP of complicity.
The controversy surrounding Prajwal Revanna stems from allegations of sexual harassment filed against him by his former housekeeper, leading to his booking under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Revanna, who is the MP from Hassan and a candidate in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, has been asked to appear before the Crime Investigation Department (CID) for questioning.
The Karnataka government has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the allegations against Revanna. Meanwhile, the JD(S) core committee has recommended his suspension in light of the accusations.
In response to allegations from Congress about BJP’s intentions regarding the Constitution, Amit Shah vehemently denied any such agenda. He moreover emphasized BJP’s commitment to preserving reservations for weaker sections and accused Congress of resorting to deceptive tactics, including editing videos, out of desperation.
Shah asserted that BJP’s majority in the past decade has been utilized for initiatives such as scrapping Article 370 and addressing triple talaq, aimed at strengthening the nation. He criticized Rahul Gandhi for allegedly spreading misinformation and fear mongering among the people.
The ongoing political drama unfolds amidst the backdrop of Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka, with voting for 14 seats already concluded and the remaining 14 scheduled for May 7th.
Amidst the exchange of accusations and counter-accusations, the fate of Prajwal Revanna and the implications for the political landscape in Karnataka remain uncertain.
