In a political event, BJP’s candidate from the Ayodhya parliamentary constituency, Lallu Singh, officially submitted his nomination papers in the presence of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
The ceremony, held on Wednesday, garnered attention as CM Dhami expressed confidence in the electorate of Ayodhya, likening them to god-like figures, and projected a win for Lallu Singh with a resounding majority, aiming to secure a third term for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Chief Minister Dhami, invoking the spiritual significance of Ayodhya as the birthplace of Lord Shri Ram, expressed pride in the recent developments under PM Modi’s leadership. He shed light on the completion of the grand Ram temple and portrayed it as a symbol of the resurgence of Ayodhya’s glory.
Dhami emphasized that Ayodhya has become the epicenter of faith for millions of Hindus, drawing visitors from across the country since the temple’s construction.
The Chief Minister credited the BJP government, led by PM Modi, for ending a centuries-old wait with the construction of the Ram temple, fulfilling a promise deeply embedded in the cultural fabric of the country.
He called upon the people of Ayodhya to extend their support to PM Modi’s vision of establishing “Ram Rajya” all over the nation. Along with this, he urged them to vote overwhelmingly to re-elect him as Prime Minister.
CM Dhami participated in rituals at the Shri Ram temple, seeking blessings for prosperity and progress in the state. The nomination of Lallu Singh, a five-time MLA from Ayodhya, underscores BJP’s confidence in retaining the seat, leveraging its stronghold in the region.
However, the Samajwadi Party has fielded veteran candidate Awadhesh Prasad, a nine-time MLA, adding a competitive edge to the electoral race.
The elections in Uttar Pradesh, spanning seven phases, commence on April 19, with Ayodhya’s constituency slated for phase 5 on May 20. As campaigning intensifies, political parties are gearing up to voters in what promises to be a closely watched contest, with Ayodhya’s historical and cultural importance taking center stage in the electoral discourse.
