Former Gujarat Congress MLA Indranil Rajguru courted controversy by using the term cunning for Mahatma Gandhi, and also claimed that Congress MP Rahul Gandhi was better than the Mahatma, as he was pure-hearted and frank.
Later, Rajguru said that he meant to say Gandhi ji was clever and not cunning. Gujarat BJP Vice President Bharat Boghara said people will not forgive the Congress for Rajguru’s comments on Mahatma Gandhi.
Meanwhile during a recent mega rally in Purba Bardhaman district, Prime Minister Narendra Modi aimed Rahul Gandhi, alleging that he had once again shifted his electoral battleground, this time from Kerala’s Wayanad to his mother’s old stronghold, Raebareli.
Modi drew parallels to Gandhi’s move from Amethi in 2019 after facing defeat there. He accused Gandhi of fleeing to Wayanad out of fear of losing, only to now seek refuge in Raebareli.
Modi reiterated his previous prediction made in Parliament that Sonia Gandhi, Rahul’s mother, would step down from contesting elections. He pointed out that Sonia resigned as the MP of Raebareli and took a seat in the Rajya Sabha from Jaipur, as he had foreseen.
Moreover, Modi claimed that Rahul’s decision to leave Wayanad mirrored his flight from Amethi, suggesting a pattern of seeking safer seats.
In previous rallies, Modi had predicted that Rahul Gandhi would “run away” from Wayanad, similar to his actions in Amethi. He used this narrative to underscore what he sees as Gandhi’s lack of confidence in facing electoral challenges.
