Today marks the initiation of the third phase of voting for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, encompassing 93 constituencies spread across 11 states and Union Territories. With more than 1,300 candidates vying for seats, including 120 women, this phase holds significant importance in shaping the political landscape of the nation.

As the clock ticks towards the evening, the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections witnesses a notable participation from the citizens across various states and Union Territories. With 93 constituencies in the fray, spanning over 11 regions, the polling booths welcomed over 1,300 candidates, including 120 women, vying for a place in the nation’s legislative body.

By the stroke of 3 PM, approximately 39.92% of eligible voters cast their ballots, reflecting a significant engagement in the democratic process.

Among the early voters were Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, setting an example for citizens to exercise their right to vote diligently.

However, amidst the enthusiasm, sporadic incidents of violence marred the polling process in certain constituencies of West Bengal. Clashes between workers of various political parties, including Trinamool, BJP, and Congress, were reported in parts of Murshidabad and Jangipur seats.

The voter turnout app paints a vivid picture of the participation rates across different regions. Notably, West Bengal emerges as a frontrunner with an impressive 63.11% turnout, closely trailed by Assam with 63.08%. These figures depict a robust engagement of the electorate in shaping the nation’s political landscape.

ASSAM – 63.08%
BIHAR – 46.69%
CHHATTISGARH – 58.19%
DADRA & NAGAR HAVELI AND DAMAN & DIU – 52.43%
GOA -61.39 %
GUJARAT – 47.03%
KARNATAKA – 54.20%
MADHYA PRADESH – 54.09%
MAHARASHTRA – 42.63%
UTTAR PRADESH – 46.78%
WEST BENGAL – 63.11%

Other states and Union Territories also witnessed a fair share of voter enthusiasm. Chhattisgarh recorded a commendable 58.19% turnout, showcasing the electorate’s keen interest in the electoral process. Similarly, Goa, with a turnout of 61.39%, and Karnataka with 54.20%, demonstrated significant voter engagement.

Nevertheless, certain regions observed comparatively lower turnouts. States like Maharashtra (42.63%), Gujarat (47.03%), and Uttar Pradesh (46.78%) reported moderate participation rates, indicating varied levels of voter engagement across the country.

As the day progresses, the Election Commission continues to monitor the polling process, ensuring a free and fair electoral exercise.

With the nation eagerly awaiting the election results, the voter turnout at 3 PM serves as a crucial indicator of public sentiment and political participation in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
