Recently in a statement, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath slammed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for his comments regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s retirement age. Adityanath criticized Kejriwal’s remark as a “desperate attempt” to attack PM Modi based on the PM’s age.
Adityanath highlighted the strong public support that PM Modi continues to receive across the nation. He dismissed the opposition’s attempts to undermine Modi’s leadership, particularly ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Adityanath asserted that despite the opposition’s efforts, PM Modi remains a widely accepted leader and guardian figure for all citizens.
Kejriwal’s remarks came following his release from jail, where he questioned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regarding the future leadership of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) after PM Modi turns 75 next year.
Kejriwal speculated that PM Modi might make way for Home Minister Amit Shah to assume the role of Prime Minister.
In addition, Kejriwal alleged that Yogi Adityanath would be sidelined by the BJP post-elections. However, Adityanath firmly rejected these claims, highlighting the successes achieved under PM Modi’s leadership, including the development of a self-reliant and prosperous Bharat.
Adityanath reaffirmed PM Modi’s position as the leader of the nation, asserting that he is widely regarded as the guardian of all Bharatiyas.
In response to Kejriwal’s allegations, Adityanath hailed PM Modi’s vision for the country, emphasizing the accomplishments of initiatives such as ‘Viksit Bharat’, ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, and ‘Ek Bharat-Shreshth Bharat’. He demonstrated confidence in Bharat’s trajectory towards becoming a global superpower under PM Modi’s leadership.
Adityanath dismissed Kejriwal’s insinuations about the BJP’s future leadership, reiterating PM Modi’s significance within the party and the nation. He asserted that PM Modi enjoys widespread support and respect from the Bharatiya populace, emphasizing that he is not only the leader of the BJP but also the entire country.
Shedding light on Kejriwal’s remarks about PM Modi’s retirement age, he questioned the future of the BJP, suggesting that PM Modi’s impending retirement would lead to significant changes within the party. Kejriwal pointed out PM Modi’s own rule, which mandates retirement for leaders after the age of 75. He cited examples of senior BJP leaders who have stepped down due to this rule.
Kejriwal’s statements reflect a broader political debate regarding leadership succession within the BJP and the NDA. However, Adityanath’s firm support for PM Modi underscores the continued prominence of Modi’s leadership within the party and the country at large.
As the political discourse intensifies in the lead-up to the elections, the question of PM Modi’s succession remains a subject of speculation and debate among political commentators and observers.
