Recently in an interview with Hindustan Times Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed the ongoing Lok Sabha elections and his vision for the future of Bharat. With the fourth phase of polling approaching, PM Modi shared insights into the campaign and outlined the priorities for his potential third term in office.
When questioned about potential gains for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), PM Modi expressed confidence in securing victories across the country. He hinted at unexpected gains, particularly in states like Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Odisha, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala.
In response to queries regarding the absence of populist schemes in the interim budget, PM Modi emphasized the government’s track record of economic progress. He highlighted the transformation of Bharat from a ‘Fragile 5’ economy to one of the fastest-growing economies globally.

Addressing concerns of complacency within the BJP due to its favored position, PM Modi drew parallels to cricket, stating that the party remains vigilant and motivated, akin to a team with a commanding lead in a Test match.
On the issue of elections being dominated by religion, caste, and freebies rather than substantive issues, PM Modi urged for a detailed analysis of speeches from all parties. He asserted that the BJP stands out for its focus on progressive agendas such as development, sustainability, and economic growth.
Regarding the influx of individuals not ideologically aligned with the BJP, PM Modi attributed this trend to the increasing recognition of the party’s work and mission. He welcomed those who share the BJP’s vision and values to join the party’s ranks.
Looking ahead to a potential third term, PM Modi outlined the overarching theme of imparting momentum across sectors to realize his vision for Bharat’s future. He hinted at comprehensive plans for the next five years and ambitious targets for the first 100 days of his government.
He said “The big theme of our third term is about imparting momentum across sectors towards the realisation of this vision. From plans for the next five years to the plan for the first 100 days of the government, we are ready with many targets and are raring to go.”
