The government of Bharat has announced a one-day state mourning on Tuesday to pay respects to Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who lost their lives in a helicopter crash. The decision was made to honor the memory of the esteemed dignitaries.
The solemn occasion will see the national flag flown at half-mast on all buildings across Bharat, where it is customarily displayed. This symbolic gesture is a mark of tribute and mourning for the departed souls. In addition, there will be a cessation of official entertainment activities throughout the day as a sign of respect.

The unfortunate incident occurred as President Raisi, aged 63, and his delegation were on the way to the city of Tabriz in northwestern Iran following a visit to a region along the Azerbaijan-Iran border. The helicopter carrying the officials crashed in northwestern Iran, resulting in the tragic loss of lives.

A spokesperson from Bharat home ministry confirmed the news of President Raisi and Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian’s demise in the helicopter crash. Expressing condolences, the spokesperson stated the government’s decision to observe a day of mourning on May 21st across the nation.
Bharatiya Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his deep sadness and shock at the untimely passing of President Raisi. He reaffirmed Bharat’s solidarity with Iran during this period of grief, extending heartfelt condolences to the Iranian people.
