Regional Breakdown
Among the states and union territories participating in Phase 6, West Bengal recorded the highest turnout at 78.19 percent, showcasing a significant engagement from the electorate. On the other hand, Jammu and Kashmir reported the lowest turnout at 51.41 percent.
Delhi saw a turnout of 54.31 percent, while Bihar and Uttar Pradesh recorded 52.80 percent and 54.02 percent respectively. Jharkhand showed active participation with a turnout of 62.13 percent, while Odisha and Haryana recorded 59.72 percent and 58.06 percent respectively.
Election Commission’s Statement
The Election Commission emphasized its commitment to electoral democracy, stating that the recent observations and verdict by the Hon’ble Supreme Court have reinforced its resolve. The Commission views this responsibility with a heightened sense of duty, ensuring transparency and efficiency in the electoral process.
In Phase 6, voters from various regions across Bharat participated in the electoral process. Delhi witnessed polling for all seven seats, followed by 10 seats in Haryana, eight in Bihar, eight in West Bengal, six in Odisha, four in Jharkhand, and 14 in Uttar Pradesh.
The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir concluded its election schedule, with the final five constituencies voting on this day.
With the conclusion of Phase 6 polling, only 57 seats remain to be voted on in the upcoming seventh phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
