Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the Congress party during an election rally in Kushinagar. He predicted that Congress leaders would convene a press conference on June 4th, following the election results, and lay blame on electronic voting machines (EVMs) for their anticipated loss.
Shah asserted that while Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi would not be held responsible for the defeat, party president Mallikarjun Kharge would likely lose his position.
Shah claimed to possess insider information regarding the initial five phases of the Lok Sabha polls, asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had secured over 310 seats across these phases.

In contrast, he predicted dismal outcomes for Rahul Gandhi, estimating fewer than 40 seats, and for Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party, projecting fewer than 4 seats in the upcoming election results.
The Home Minister took jabs at Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav, accusing them of being disconnected from the challenges faced by the people of eastern Uttar Pradesh. He alleged that both leaders were born into privilege, unlike PM Modi, who emerged from a humble background.
Shah further criticized their alleged frequent vacations and claimed they lacked the endurance to withstand the rigors of Indian politics, contrasting this with PM Modi’s consistent dedication without any leave during his tenure.
Shah also levied accusations of corruption against Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav, claiming their involvement in scandals worth ₹12 lakh crore, without providing specific details. In contrast, he highlighted PM Modi’s unblemished record, asserting that no corruption allegations had tarnished his tenure as chief minister or prime minister.
In addition to his criticism of the Congress and its leaders, Amit Shah addressed the issue of the Ram temple, accusing the SP government of violence against Ram devotees and blaming the Congress for stalling the temple’s construction for 70 years.
He praised PM Modi’s contributions to the temple’s construction, including the groundbreaking ceremony (bhoomipujan), participation in consecration ceremonies (pran pratishtha), and initiatives to renovate revered temples like Kashi Vishwanath and Somnath, emphasizing the BJP’s commitment to Hindu sentiments.
