On Friday, President Droupadi Murmu received credentials from envoys of seven different nations at a formal ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan. This significant event marks the formal beginning of their diplomatic duties in Bharat.
The new ambassadors and high commissioners who presented their credentials included Fernando Xavier Bucheli Vargas, the Ambassador of Ecuador; Lindy Elizabeth Cameron, the High Commissioner of the United Kingdom; Meshal Mustafa J Alshemali, the Ambassador of Kuwait; and Patrick John Rata, the High Commissioner of New Zealand.
In addition, Alassane Conte, the Ambassador of Guinea; Jagnnath Sami, the High Commissioner of Fiji; and Xu Feihong, the Ambassador of China, also presented their credentials.
Rashtrapati Bhavan announced the ceremony in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter). The post detailed the names and titles of the new envoys, stating, “President Droupadi Murmu received credentials from Mr Fernando Xavier Bucheli Vargas, Ambassador of the Republic of Ecuador; Mrs Lindy Elizabeth Cameron, High Commissioner of the United Kingdom; Mr Meshal Mustafa J Alshemali, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait; and Mr Patrick John Rata, High Commissioner of New Zealand at Rashtrapati Bhavan.”

The post continued, “President Droupadi Murmu received credentials from Mr Alassane Conte, Ambassador of the Republic of Guinea; Mr Jagnnath Sami, High Commissioner of the Republic of Fiji; and Mr Xu Feihong, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China at Rashtrapati Bhavan.”
This event follows a similar ceremony held in March, where President Murmu accepted credentials from envoys of five other nations. In that earlier event, the new ambassadors included Josel Francisco Ignacio from the Philippines, Sardor Rustambaev from Uzbekistan, Mikhail Kasko from Belarus, Peter Maina Munyiri from Kenya, and Vakhtang Jaoshvili from Georgia.
