Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim have successfully re-elected their incumbent governments in the recent assembly and Lok Sabha elections. Both states held simultaneous elections on April 19, with the counting of votes completed on Sunday, just two days before the nationwide Lok Sabha election results.
Arunachal Pradesh Results
In Arunachal Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) achieved a significant victory, securing 46 out of 60 seats in the state assembly. This marks an increase of five seats compared to the 2019 elections. Notably, 10 BJP candidates, including Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, were elected unopposed in March.
Among the opposition, the National People’s Party (NPP) won five seats, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) secured three, the People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) gained two, and the Congress obtained one seat. Additionally, three independent candidates won their respective constituencies.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his gratitude on social media, thanking the people of Arunachal Pradesh for their support. He praised the state’s mandate for development-oriented politics and promised continued efforts towards the state’s growth.

Sikkim Results
In Sikkim, the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) celebrated a landslide victory by winning 31 out of 32 seats in the state assembly. This is a dramatic improvement from their narrow victory in 2019 when they won 17 seats. The opposition party, Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF), suffered a significant loss, managing to secure only one seat.
Prime Minister Modi also acknowledged the efforts of BJP workers in Sikkim and expressed his appreciation for those who supported the party in the assembly elections. He expressed. “I thank all those who voted for @BJP4Sikkim in the Assembly Elections. I also appreciate the efforts put in by our Karyakartas. Our Party will always be at the forefront of working towards Sikkim’s development and fulfilling people’s aspirations.”

Simultaneous Elections
