A day after the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance secured a decisive victory in the Lok Sabha elections, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu extended their congratulations to Narendra Modi, who is set to serve his third consecutive term as India’s Prime Minister.
Taking to social media platform X, Zelenskyy lauded the successful conduct of the world’s largest democratic elections and congratulated Modi and the BJP. “I welcome the successful holding of the world’s largest democratic elections in India. Congratulations to Prime Minister @NarendraModi, the BJP, and BJP-led NDA on the third consecutive victory in India’s parliamentary elections,” he said. Highlighting India’s significant role in global affairs, Zelenskyy underscored the importance of collaboration for global peace and prosperity. He also expressed anticipation for India’s participation in the upcoming Peace Summit.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also extended warm wishes to Modi, expressing his desire to see the India-Israel friendship reach new heights. “I extend my warmest congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on being reelected for a third consecutive term. May the friendship between India and Israel continue to surge towards new heights. Badhaai Ho!” Netanyahu said in a social media post.
In the recently concluded elections, the BJP-led NDA secured an absolute majority with 293 seats, with the BJP emerging as the single largest party with 240 seats. Despite falling short of the 272-majority mark in the 543-member Lok Sabha, the BJP remains the dominant force.
Both leaders’ congratulatory messages underscore the global recognition of India’s democratic process and the significant role Modi continues to play on the world stage.
