Senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) gathered in New Delhi to discuss the formation of the government following their victory in the Lok Sabha elections. With this win, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to begin his third term in office.
The NDA coalition, comprising various political parties, secured a majority in the Lok Sabha, paving the way for Modi’s continued leadership. Key leaders such as TDP’s N Chandrababu Naidu, JD(U)’s Nitish Kumar, Shiv Sena’s Eknath Shinde, and LJP’s Chirag Paswan participated in the meeting chaired by Modi, along with senior BJP members.
During the meeting, leaders expressed gratitude to the public for their support and discussed the next steps in government formation.

JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha highlighted the mandate received by the NDA for a third consecutive term and affirmed Modi’s leadership in the forthcoming government.
Eknath Shinde, the Maharashtra Chief Minister representing Shiv Sena, reiterated his support for Modi, acknowledging the majority secured by the NDA. He emphasized the alliance’s commitment to forming the government under Modi’s leadership.
While the date for the oath-taking ceremony remains unconfirmed, there are speculations that it might occur over the weekend if the new government’s framework is swiftly finalized. The participation of parties like TDP and JD(U) is anticipated to influence the allocation of key portfolios in the government.
Despite comfortably crossing the majority mark in the Lok Sabha, the BJP, with 240 seats, fell short of the magic number for the first time since 2014. This underscores the critical role played by its allies in ensuring government formation and stability.
The NDA’s post-election meeting signals the beginning of discussions regarding the formation of the new government under Narendra Modi’s leadership. With various coalition partners pledging support, the focus now shifts towards portfolio allocation and the subsequent inauguration of the government.
