Prime Minister Narendra Modi has met with former President Ram Nath Kovind in the national capital before formally staking his claim to form the government at the Centre for a historic third consecutive term.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi held meetings with veteran BJP leaders Lal Krishna Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi, signaling the commencement of the process.
The atmosphere at the Samvidhan Sadan of the Parliament building was charged with enthusiasm as PM Modi arrived to join the meeting, greeted by chants of ‘Modi Modi’. In a gesture of reverence, the Prime Minister respectfully touched the Constitution of India with his forehead, symbolizing his commitment to upholding the nation’s foundational principles.

At the subsequent NDA Parliamentary Party meeting, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed confidence in the alliance’s unity, affirming that all pending works in Bihar would be swiftly addressed under PM Modi’s leadership.
Various leaders, including BJP MP-elect Nitin Gadkari and JD(S) MP-elect HD Kumaraswamy, voiced their support for PM Modi’s leadership, underscoring the coalition’s solidarity.
During the gathering, PM Modi shared a candid moment with LJP (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan, further cementing the alliance’s cohesion and camaraderie. Following the parliamentary meeting, NDA leaders proceeded to Rashtrapati Bhavan to submit their letter of support to the President, formalizing their endorsement of PM Modi’s candidacy.
Reflecting on the recent electoral victory, PM Modi emphasized the NDA’s formidable coalition, comprising 293 seats with BJP securing 240 seats independently. He reiterated the alliance’s commitment to national development and unity, citing the enduring legacy of stalwart leaders who laid the foundation for the NDA’s success.
