On Tuesday the India Meteorological Department forecasted heatwave conditions in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Jharkhand, and Odisha as the maximum temperature is likely to rise for the next five days starting from today.
As per the heatwave alert, the maximum temperature is likely to experience the maximum temperature rise.
In the initial 24 hours, not much changes will be witnessed, said the weather bureau, adding that temperature will rise shortly after.
During the next five days, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh are expected to experience severe heatwave conditions, raising concerns for public health and day-to-day activities.
To mitigate challenges linked to rising temperatures, people are advised to adopt preventive measures recommended for the summer season.
One can take a sufficient intake of water, refrain from excessive exposure to sun radiation, and find ways and means to spend most of the time in cool and shaded places.
The Met Department forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall over West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh till Friday.
The weather bureau also predicted very heavy rainfall over Konkan, Goa, Maharashtra, Marathwada, Kerala, Mahe, Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and various other regions for the next few days.
