A fresh encounter broke out in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir today, leaving one soldier injured. This marks the fourth encounter in the Union Territory over the last three days, and the second in Doda since yesterday.
The recent surge in violence began on June 9, when terrorists attacked pilgrims in Reasi, resulting in the tragic deaths of nine people. The attack left 41 others injured, marking a significant escalation in the region’s ongoing conflict.
Yesterday, an encounter took place between security forces and terrorists in the Kathua region. This violent clash resulted in the death of a suspected Pakistani terrorist on Tuesday night. The encounter continued into Wednesday, when a second terrorist was also killed, unfortunately, a CRPF soldier lost his life during the operation.

In the higher reaches of Doda, a group of three to four terrorists has been reported. Senior police officer Deputy Inspector General of Police, Shridhar Patil, mentioned that a search operation is ongoing to neutralize these terrorists in the challenging terrain. Reinforcements have been rushed to the area to strengthen the cordon and enhance security measures.
Attack on Joint Checkpost
On Tuesday night, terrorists attacked a joint checkpost in the upper reaches of Chattergalla, located on the Bhaderwah-Pathankot road. The attack injured five soldiers of the Rashtriya Rifles and a special police officer (SPO).

Temporary posts, jointly manned by the army and police, had been set up in the higher reaches based on intelligence reports of terrorist movements. These posts were intended to monitor and prevent such attacks, but the rugged terrain poses significant challenges for the security forces.
This recent spate of violence highlights the persistent threat of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. The authorities are on high alert, and security forces continue to conduct operations to locate and neutralize terrorist groups.
