On Friday, Bharat laid the foundation stone for new school and hostel buildings in Nepal’s Pyuthan district. This project, called the Shree Dang-Bang Secondary School & Hostel Buildings, is part of the High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP). This initiative falls under an agreement between Bharat and Nepal aimed at supporting community development.
The construction, located in Airawati Rural Municipality-1, Pyuthan district, is funded by the Bharatiya government at a cost of NRs 33.92 million. The project is part of the ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation’ program. An official ceremony was held to mark the beginning of the construction. Mr. Nabil Bikram Shah, Chairman of Airawati Rural Municipality, and Shri Prashant Kumar Sona, Second Secretary at the Embassy of Bharat in Kathmandu, jointly laid the foundation stone.
According to the Embassy of Bharat in Kathmandu, the grant provided by the Bharatiya government will be used to construct the school and hostel buildings along with other necessary facilities. This project is being executed with the help of Airawati Rural Municipality, demonstrating the strong development partnership between Bharat and Nepal.

At the ceremony, the Chairman of Airawati Rural Municipality, political representatives, and the Chairperson of the School Management Committee expressed their gratitude for Bharat’s continuous support. They highlighted how these developments will improve education and living conditions for students, contributing significantly to the region’s educational development.
Many important figures, including political representatives, government officials, social workers, school management representatives, teachers, parents, and students, attended the event. The new buildings are expected to provide better education and accommodation facilities for students at Shree Dang-Bang Secondary School, fostering a better learning environment.

Since 2003, Bharat has undertaken over 551 High Impact Community Development Projects in Nepal, completing 490 of them. These projects span various sectors. In Lumbini Province alone, 61 projects have been completed, including two in Pyuthan.
In addition, Bharat has gifted 1009 ambulances and 300 school buses to hospitals, health posts, and educational institutions across Nepal. Specifically, 164 ambulances and 43 school buses have been given to Lumbini Province, with 10 ambulances provided in Pyuthan District.
