Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Uttar Pradesh and Bihar on June 18 and 19, spanning Tuesday and Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the Prime Minister will be in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, where he will participate in the PM Kisan Samman Sammelan at around 5 pm. During this event, PM Modi will present certificates to over 30,000 women from self-help groups (SHGs) known as Krishi Sakhis. These women are part of a program that aims to empower rural women by training them as Para-extension Workers under the Krishi Sakhi Convergence Program (KSCP), which aligns with the “Lakhpati Didi” Program.
Release of 17th PM Kisan Nidhi Installment
This visit also marks the release of the 17th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. This installment amounts to more than Rs 20,000 crore and will benefit around 9.26 crore farmers across the country. Since the scheme’s inception, over 11 crore eligible farmer families have received benefits totaling more than Rs 3.04 lakh crore.
PM Modi’s first act after being sworn in for his third term was to sign the release of this installment, demonstrating the government’s ongoing commitment to supporting farmers.
Later in the evening, around 7 pm, PM Modi will witness the Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat. Following this, at approximately 8 pm, he will visit the Kashi Vishwanath temple to perform puja and darshan.
On Wednesday, the Prime Minister will be in Bihar. He will start his day by visiting the ruins of Nalanda at around 9.45 am. The ruins, which were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2016, hold significant historical importance as the site of one of the world’s oldest residential universities.
At 10.30 am, PM Modi will inaugurate the new campus of Nalanda University in Rajgir. The inauguration will be attended by several notable figures, including heads of missions from 17 countries. The new campus is a collaborative effort between India and East Asia Summit (EAS) countries and is designed to be environmentally sustainable.
The new Nalanda University campus includes two academic blocks with 40 classrooms that can accommodate around 1900 students. It also features two auditoriums with a seating capacity of 300 each, a student hostel for around 550 students, and numerous other facilities such as an international center, an amphitheater for up to 2000 people, a faculty club, and a sports complex.

The campus is a ‘Net Zero’ Green Campus, equipped with solar plants, water treatment and recycling plants, and extensive water bodies, making it self-sustaining and eco-friendly.
Nalanda University has a rich historical legacy, with its origins dating back approximately 1600 years. It is considered one of the world’s first residential universities, making it a significant landmark in the history of global education.
Prime Minister Modi’s visit underscores the importance of both modern development and historical preservation, highlighting the government’s commitment to empowering farmers, supporting rural women, and promoting sustainable and historical education.
