On Friday the Pune district court granted bail to Vishal Agarwal, father of 17-year-old Vedant Agarwal, alleged for his involvement in the Pune Porsche case.
Vishal Agarwal was granted bail in the primary case under sections 77 and 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act. Vishal Agarwal will remain in prison as he faces pending charges in cases related to the alleged abduction of a driver and manipulation of blood samples.
Vedant Agarwal allegedly killed two young techies with his speeding Porsche. The minor was allegedly involved in the Porsche accident in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar last month.
The teen, who the police claim was drunk and driving the luxury car when it hit a two-wheeler in the early hours of May 19 killing two techies, including a woman, was lodged at an observation home in the city.
The minor boy’s mother and father, along with two doctors- Dr Ajay Taware and Dr Shrihari Halnor- and a hospital employee, Atul Ghatkamble, are currently in prison for their alleged involvement in the blood sample swapping case.
Police have also arrested two individuals who acted as intermediaries between the doctors and the juvenile’s father, a prominent builder, to facilitate financial transactions for the blood samples swap.
