In a joint effort, the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Punjab Police have successfully recovered a China-made drone in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district. The operation, which took place on June 21, 2024, yielded the recovery of a Pakistani drone found in a farming field adjacent to Noorwala village.

Identified as a DJI Mavic-3 Classic, the drone was discovered as part of a coordinated search operation aimed at addressing the growing concern of illicit drone activities in border areas. This marks the second such recovery in as many days, following another drone retrieval on June 20 from a corn field in Mastgarh village.

The BSF highlighted the significance of prompt information sharing and collaboration between its troops and the Punjab Police in executing these operations. These efforts underscore their shared commitment to curbing the misuse of drones along the border, which poses security challenges.

Speaking on the operation, officials emphasized the need for vigilance and proactive measures to counter the infiltration of drones, often used for unauthorized surveillance and smuggling activities. The recovered drones, both manufactured in China, indicate a persistent challenge in monitoring and securing border regions effectively.

Following the recoveries, the BSF and Punjab Police have intensified their surveillance and patrols along the Tarn Taran border to deter further incidents. The recovered drones will undergo a detailed examination to gather intelligence on their intended use and origin, contributing to ongoing security assessments in the region.

Authorities have urged local communities to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies promptly. The collaboration between BSF and Punjab Police continues to be crucial in maintaining border security and safeguarding against potential threats posed by unauthorized drone operations.

As investigations proceed, efforts are underway to enhance technological capabilities and strategic responses to combat the evolving methods of cross-border infiltration. The recovery of these drones serves as a testament to the vigilance and proactive measures undertaken by security forces to ensure the safety and integrity of border areas.
