In a developing case surrounding the NEET-UG 2024 examination, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken four students into custody for questioning. The investigation, spurred by allegations of paper leakage and malpractices, is unfolding at AIIMS Patna.
Dr. Gopal Krushna Pal, AIIMS Patna’s Executive Director and CEO, confirmed that while no doctors have been arrested, four students have been taken by the CBI. The students involved are Chandan Singh, Kumar Sanu, Rahul Anand, and Karan Jain, hailing from Bihar and Jharkhand.
Dr. Pal emphasized cooperation with the CBI, stating they have provided all necessary assistance for the ongoing investigation. CBI officers have reportedly sealed the students’ hostel rooms as part of their inquiry into the NEET-UG irregularities.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has seized multiple petitions requesting a review of the NEET-UG 2024 results and a fresh examination. Allegations include question paper leaks, discrepancies in marking, and other anomalies. Aspirants from across the country have raised concerns about the fairness of the exam, which serves as the gateway to prestigious medical and dental courses.
The NEET-UG exam, administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA), is pivotal for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and related courses in both public and private institutions nationwide. The 2024 edition of NEET-UG was conducted across 4,750 centers on May 5th, with approximately 24 lakh candidates appearing for the test.
