Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a significant meeting on Friday to review the operations of the Multi-Agency Centre (MAC) of the Intelligence Bureau (IB). The MAC is a crucial body responsible for addressing security challenges in India.
During the meeting, Shah emphasized the need for a whole-of-government approach to national security. He urged leaders from security agencies, intelligence, and law enforcement across the country to work together seamlessly. This collaboration aims to dismantle terror networks and their support systems effectively.
Shah highlighted the importance of greater synergy between the multiple agencies involved. He stressed that a united effort is essential to tackle the evolving security threats facing the nation. By increasing engagement within the MAC, Shah envisions a cohesive platform that brings together law enforcement, anti-drug, cyber security, and intelligence agencies for decisive and prompt actions.
The Home Minister noted that the MAC has gained the trust of its members and must continue to operate around the clock. He stressed the need for proactive and real-time sharing of actionable intelligence among all stakeholders, including responders on the ground.
Shah proposed the creation of a team of young, technically skilled officers from various national security agencies. This team would use Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML) to dismantle terror networks and respond to new security challenges.
