Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to bravehearts who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty in the 1999 Kargil War. Prime Minister Narendra Modi started his address at 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas in Drass, Ladakh. PM Modi said, ‘This country is thankful to the brave soldiers’ and I am indebted to those who lost their lives’.
He said, ‘Youth being misled on Agniveer by opposition’. He further added, ‘Agnipath scheme is also an example of the necessary reforms done by the Army and some people used to think that the Army means saluting politicians, doing parades but for us, Army means the faith of 140 crore countrymen’.

PM Modi further added, ‘The goal of Agnipath is to make the Army young, to keep the Army continuously fit for war. Unfortunately, some people have made such a sensitive issue related to national security a subject of politics. These are the same people who weakened our Army by committing scams worth thousands of crores in the Army’.
While addressing the forces PM Modi said, ‘India was trying to establish peace at that time, in return, Pakistan once again showed its untrustyworthy face. However, lies and terror were defeated by the truth. Every time Pakistan attempted something nefarious’.
He also talked about the development in Jammu & Kashmir. ‘Tourism flourishing in Kashmir, after decades, cinema opened in Kashmir’. He further added, ‘Tajia procession took place in Kashmir after decades’.
