Bangladesh has been plunged into chaos as Islamist extremists have taken advantage of the political turmoil to unleash a wave of terror and violence against the Hindu community. Reports are pouring in from across the country of Islamist mobs attacking Hindu homes and burning them to the ground. Notably, ISKCON Temple and Kali Temple in the city have also been attacked, forcing devotees to seek shelter.
Several ‘X’ handles are claiming that Hindus are being attacked by extremist mobs. Videos are doing rounds of women pleading for help, houses being burnt and police officials being beaten to death by mobs.
My heart is breaking, my eyes are crying. I believe in the power of prayer, I believe God answers prayers. Everybody please say a prayer for the Hindus in Bangladesh. God really does answer prayers. Please pray and help if you can. Tell everybody to pray🙏 #BangladeshViolence pic.twitter.com/N3XRfvfMeT

Eyewitnesses reported that the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre in Dhaka’s Dhanmondi area was damaged by an unruly mob. Protesters also set fire to several key locations in Dhaka, including Bangabandhu Bhaban, also known as the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum, at Dhanmondi 32.
