A wanted terrorist linked with the Pune ISIS Module, Rizwan Ali has been arrested by the Delhi Police from Daryaganj area. Rs 3 lakh reward had been announced on him by the National Investigation Agency.
He was absconding for many years and now the Special Cell from arrested him near Daryaganj in Old Delhi; some weapons including a pistol has also been recovered.
Rizwan had reviewed some VIP areas of the national capital and it is suspected that he was planning to carry out a terrorist incident before Independence Day on August 15.
The special cell arrested him before that. Notably, Rizwan is a part of the ISIS module that was first busted by Maharashtra Police. With the presence of certain from Delhi in this ISIS module that planned for carrying out bomb blasts and cause riots in the state of Maharashtra, the Delhi Police Special Cell came in.
Two persons Mohammad Shahnawaz Alam and Mohammad Rizwan Ashraf were arrested by Delhi Police Special Cell on October 2, 2023 where the sinister design of ISIS module was revealed.
Subsequently the case was transferred to the National Investigation Agency ( Mumbai) that has also filed charge-sheets and supplementary charge-sheets in this case.
From October 19, 2023 case being probed by National Investigation Agency that under RC 29 have charge-sheeted 20 persons that were linked with ISIS and planning to cause terror activities not only in Maharashtra but areas beyond it. Following this, a supplementary chargesheet was given by NIA in this matter on June 3.
