The court has called the state machinery a complete failure on the vandalism that took place in the hospital on the night of August 14. At the same time, it has advised that ‘it would be better to close the hospital and shift the patients present in the hospital to some other hospital.
During this time, West Bengal government lawyer Vikas Ranjan Bhattacharya, who was present in the court, said that the police force was present there. On this, the court said that they could not even protect their own people. This is an unfortunate situation. How will the doctors work fearlessly?
The court asked what measures are you taking after this incident? What steps were taken as a precaution? On this, the lawyer appearing on behalf of the government said that instructions have been given for a CBI investigation.
In fact, some people entered the hospital premises at midnight on Wednesday, 14 August, in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and vandalized the emergency department. The crowd broke the police barricade near RG Kar Hospital and entered the premises. Some people broke chairs and boards. This incident happened when a large number of women were protesting on the streets of Kolkata demanding justice for the junior doctor.
