Several coaches of Sabarmati Express (Banaras-Ahmedabad) derailed near Govindpuri station in Kanpur-Bhimsen section of Kanpur under Jhansi division at around 2:30 am. It is a matter of relief that there was no loss of life or property in the accident.
Northern Railway PRO Amit Malviya said that several coaches of train number 19168 Sabarmati Express (Banaras-Ahmedabad) derailed near Govindpuri station in Kanpur-Bhimsen section of Kanpur under Jhansi division at around 2:30 am. According to the driver, prima facie a boulder hit the engine due to which the cattle guard of the engine was badly damaged and bent. On receiving the information, railway officials along with the entire team have reached the spot for rescue and relief.
Arrangements have been made by the railway administration for the convenience of the passengers. Passengers are being sent to Kanpur by bus. Senior officials are present at the accident site and control office. Accident relief train has also departed.

He informed that train number 14110 and 14109 (Kanpur Central-Chitrakoot) starting date of journey 17.08.24 (arriving train of 22442, 22441 will run on 17.08.24)
Partial cancellation 04143 (Khajuraho-Kanpur Central) starting date of journey 17.08.24 will be partially cancelled in Banda. 04144 (Kanpur Central – Khajuraho) starting date of journey 17.08.24 will run from Banda.
Route change
Train number 05326 (Lokmanya Tilak Term-Gorakhpur) starting date of journey 16.08.24, has been changed via Veerangna Laxmi Bai Jhansi-Gwalior-Bhind-Etawah-Kanpur Central.
