Ujjain: Lord Mahakal’s Procession Taken Out With Great Pomp

In the series of processions of the world famous Jyotirlinga Lord Mahakaleshwar in the month of Shravan-Bhadrapada, the fifth procession of Lord Mahakal will be taken out with great pomp today on the fifth Monday of Sawan.

Riding on a silver palanquin, Avantikanath will visit the city and know the condition of his subjects. During the procession, Lord Mahakal will give darshan to his devotees in five forms. Chandramouliswara will be seated in the palanquin, Man Mahesh on Gajraj, Shiv Tandava on Garuda chariot, Uma Mahesh on Nandi chariot and Mukharvind of Holkar State will be seated on Dola chariot.

Manager of Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee and Ujjain Collector Neeraj Kumar Singh said that on the fifth and last Monday of the month of Sawan, the procession of Lord Mahakaleshwar will be taken out with full protocol and pomp. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will also participate in the procession. It will include the band of CRPF and Army. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai is also coming to visit Lord Mahakaleshwar today.

The collector said that the colors of folk culture will also be seen in the procession of Lord Mahakal. A group of tribal artists will keep presenting dance. The procession will start from Mahakaleshwar temple at 4 pm. Before the procession starts, Lord Chandramouleshwar will be duly worshipped in the assembly hall of Mahakaleshwar temple at 3.30 pm. After that, at 4 pm, Lord Chandramouleshwar will go on a city tour seated in a silver palanquin. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav will reach Mahakaleshwar temple at 3.15 pm and will join the procession of Lord Mahakal after performing worship here.

He said that as per tradition, the armed police force personnel will salute Lord Chandramouleshwar seated in the palanquin at the main gate of the temple. From here, the Lord will go on a city tour. Behind the palanquin, Man Mahesh on Gajraj, Shiv Tandava on Garuda chariot, Uma Mahesh on Nandi chariot and the face of Holkar State on Dola chariot will give darshan to the devotees. The procession will reach Ramghat via the traditional route Mahakal Chauraha, Gudri Chauraha, Bakshi Bazaar and Kaharwadi, where the Lord will be anointed and worshipped with the water of Mother Shipra River.

After this, the procession will reach Mahakaleshwar Temple again via Ramanujkot, Modh’s Dharamshala, Kartik Chowk Khati’s Temple, Satyanarayan Temple, Dhaba Road, Tanki Chauraha, Chhatri Chowk, Gopal Temple, Patni Bazaar and Gudri Bazaar. The procession of Lord Mahakaleshwar will be broadcast live on the Facebook of the temple management committee. Along with this, at the end of the procession, arrangements have been made to provide live darshan to the devotees standing for darshan on the procession route through LED in the moving chariot. The specialty of this moving chariot is that it will have a live box, due to which the live broadcast will be uninterrupted.
