There is anger in the whole country over the rape and murder of a female trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College. Voices for justice are being raised in every state.
The doctors’ strike is still going on. Resident doctors of Delhi AIIMS have said that their strike will continue due to which patients are facing problems and the health service has been badly affected.
At the same time, the investigation of this case has now been handed over from Kolkata Police to CBI. CBI is questioning many people in action mode. CBI has been questioning the former principal of the hospital, Sandeep Ghosh, for 3 consecutive days. CBI did 3D mapping of the incident spot.
Psychological test of accused Sanjay Roy was done, which will be done again today. Kolkata Police has implemented Section 163 near the medical college, after which dharna-demonstration near the college has been banned. At the same time, the Supreme Court has also taken suo motu cognizance of this matter. The Supreme Court will hear this case on August 20, i.e. tomorrow.
In the midst of all this, the detailed post-mortem report has come in which rape before murder has been confirmed. The report mentions the possibility of sexual assault and the report has revealed that there were more than 14 injury marks on the body of the deceased. No fracture has been found.
According to the postmortem report, injury marks have been found on the head, both cheeks, lips, nose, right jaw, chin, neck, left hand, shoulder, knee, ankle and private part. The postmortem report states that bleeding was observed in the lungs along with blood clots in many parts of the body.
At the same time, the protesting doctors are demanding justice for the victim and strict safety laws for health workers. AIIMS RDA wrote a letter to PM Modi to bring an ordinance in this regard.
At the same time, a group of Padma award winning doctors has appealed to President Draupadi Murmu for immediate intervention. Earlier, the Union Health Ministry had assured the protesting doctors last week that every effort would be made to ensure their safety.
The Union Health Ministry said on August 17 that it would form a committee to suggest measures to ensure the safety of medical professionals. After which the resident doctors called off the strike. But on the second day itself, after vandalism and violence in the hospital, the angry doctors went on strike again.
