There is outrage across the country against the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, and the vandalism by miscreants in the hospital.
Doctors are demanding the central government to bring an ordinance related to the safety of health workers. For this, they have also written a letter to PM Modi and President Draupadi Murmu.
At the same time, resident doctors of government hospitals in Delhi are starting a unique OPD protest outside the Ministry of Health from today, that is, doctors will now start their protest from today by providing OPD services on the road in front of Nirman Bhawan (the office of the Union Ministry of Health).
At the same time, the Mamata government is now seen getting surrounded continuously in this matter. Along with the opposition leaders, there is anger against the government among the leaders within her party as well. Now West Bengal Governor C.V. Anand Bose has sought time to meet Health Minister JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah.
Governor C.V. Anand Bose has targeted the Mamata government. Governor Bose said, “Bengal is not a safe place for women. Bengal has disappointed its women. It is not the society but the present government that has let down its women. Bengal must be brought back to its ancient glory where women enjoyed a respectable position in society. Women are now scared of ‘goons’, a fear created by the government, which is insensitive to the issue.”
The CBI is investigating the rape and murder of the trainee doctor. Kolkata Police is investigating the case of vandalism in RG Kar Hospital. The police have arrested a total of 37 miscreants so far.
The CBI is also in action mode and is questioning many people. The CBI is questioning the former principal of the hospital, Sandeep Ghosh, for the last 3 days.
The CBI did 3D mapping of the crime scene. The psychological test of the accused Sanjay Roy was conducted, which will be done again today. Kolkata Police has implemented Section 163 near the medical college, after which protests have been banned near the college. The Supreme Court has also taken suo motu cognizance of this matter. The Supreme Court will hear this case on August 20, i.e. tomorrow.
