The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has always been in the negative headlines for its meaningless allegations. It has come under scrutiny for its act of the ongoing violence against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh.
It deliberately framed the issue to shift blame onto India’s pro-Hindu voices. The violence against Hindu minorities has increased since the political chaos that saw former Bangladesh President Sheikh Hasina’s government and later Mohammed Yunus termed as the Chief Advisor of a military regime.
According to the media reports, Hindu communities have been including destruction of temples, looting of business, loss of lives. As per the Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Oikya Parishad, an organisation over 205 attacks have taken place against Hindu businesses, temples, and shops since August 5, 2024.
Notably, the United Nations Human Rights Council has made a big disclosure by presenting a report on the violence in Bangladesh. The report shows that at least 650 people have lost their lives in the violence perpetrated by protesters amid the anti-reservation movement in Bangladesh.
The BBC covered the violence in a controversial manner. In a recent article titled ‘Far-right spreads false claims about Muslim attacks in Bangladesh’, the BBC accused Indian netizens, specifically those aligned with pro-Hindu perspectives, of spreading misinformation. The article showed that the narrative of widespread religious violence against Hindus was being exaggerated by these groups.
This shows the inauthentic coverage of international media houses which falsely showcase the Hindu communities.
