Chhatarpur Violence: FIR Lodged Against 150 Muslim Rioters Who Pelted Stones At Police Station, 20 Arrested

In the stone pelting case on City Kotwali in Chhatarpur the police has taken major action after the instructions of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. On Thursday, the police bulldozed the bungalow of former Congress District Vice President Haji Shahzad Ali, the main accused in the stone pelting case.

During this, three cars including a Fortuner parked inside were taken out by breaking the wall with the help of a JCB. The JCB was also driven over the cars. The main accused Shahzad Ali has absconded along with his family. The Divisional Commissioner said that the bungalow was built in 20 thousand square feet without permission.

In this case, the police has registered a case against about 150 accused including 48 named ones in the police station Kotwali. In the case, more than 70 people were questioned by the police till late Thursday evening and 20 accused have been arrested. The police produced the arrested accused in the court and took them on remand. During this, a procession was taken out from the Kotwali to the court.

Police Public Relations Officer Ashish Sharma said that during the Bharat Bandh called by SC-ST organizations, on Wednesday at around 2.45 pm, 100-150 people along with City Sadar Javed Ali and former Sadar Shahzad Ali reached the Kotwali police station to submit a memorandum against the objectionable remarks made on a particular community in Maharashtra.

During this, the police and administration team reached and discussed with the people of the community and received the memorandum and acknowledged it. They were counseled by the administration and police officials on the spot. After this, some miscreants pelted stones at the police station.

He said that in this incident, 10 people including Additional Superintendent of Police Chhatarpur and Police Station Incharge Kotwali were injured. The miscreants damaged government property. Police used necessary force to disperse the miscreants and control the situation. During the investigation of the case, police teams were formed to identify and arrest the accused. The accused were identified by closely observing CCTV footage and various video footages of the incident.
