The security of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has been increased. He has been given Advance Security Liaison (ASL) security.
Earlier, Mohan Bhagwat was given Z Plus security, but after the IB alert, his security has been increased to Advance Security Liaison. Presently, the responsibility of his security is on the shoulders of CISF and 58 commandos are deployed clockwise for his security.
According to the new security, the CISF team will already be present at the place where Mohan Bhagwat has to go. According to the media reports, ASL security has a multi-layered security cover.
Chopper travel is allowed only in specially designed helicopters for which there is a different kind of protocol. All the local agencies including the police, district administration, health department of that state have to work together wherever the person goes.
There are 4 types of security categories in India which include X, Y, Z and Z plus security categories and Z plus category is the biggest security category.
Crores of rupees are spent every year on the security of these people. 2 security personnel are included in the X category security system. Whereas Y category security is given to VIP people. Under this, 11 security personnel are provided. These include 1 or 2 commandos and 2 PSOs.
In Z category level security, the number of security personnel doubles. It has 22 security personnel which also includes NSG. In security, an escort car and commandos are equipped with sub-machine guns and modern means of communication.
In Z + category level security, not one or two but 36 security personnel are engaged in which there are also 10 commandos of NSG. These commandos are equipped with ultra-modern weapons. ITBP and CRPF personnel are deployed for their security.
There is a 4-layer security for the protection of the Prime Minister and former Prime Ministers of India along with their close relatives. Special Protection Group (SPG) is also deployed for their security. After the assassination of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, SPG was established to provide security to the top leaders of the country and their families. This continues till date.
