In the case of rape and murder of a female doctor, the CBI has questioned former principal of RG Kar Hospital, Sandeep Ghosh, for more than 100 hours in 13 days. On Thursday, on the 14th day, Sandeep Ghosh has once again reached the CBI office located at CGO Complex for questioning. He will be questioned intensively today as well.
On the other hand, in this case, the parents of the victim have appealed to increase pressure on the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to expedite the investigation. On Wednesday, a two-member CBI team reached the victim’s house and took some important information related to the case from them. On Thursday the victim’s mother said, ‘Two CBI officers had come to take some information, we told everything. They said that they are trying their best’.
The CBI has been investigating this case for the last 14 days, but questions are being raised in civil society and political parties regarding the progress of the investigation. People are also demanding to expedite the investigation on social media. Trinamool Congress has also raised its voice regarding this matter. The victim’s family also wants that pressure should be put on the investigating agency in this case so that justice can be delivered soon.
The victim’s family also says that the movement demanding justice for their daughter should continue. However, they do not want any violence or injury during this period. They said that if any kind of loss occurs due to the movement, they feel sad, and they do not want such a situation.
On the 12-hour bandh called by the BJP on Wednesday, the victim’s father said, “We did not support the bandh, but we do not want it to fail either. We want the protest to continue.” On August 15, the Calcutta High Court handed over the responsibility of investigating the RG Kar case to the CBI. Since then, in the last 14 days, Sandeep Ghosh was called for questioning 13 times, in which he had to face questions from the CBI for about 103 hours.
Apart from this heinous case of murder and rape of a female doctor, the CBI has also been given with the responsibility of investigating the financial irregularities in RG Kar Hospital. Sandeep Ghosh has been made the main accused in both these cases.
