India is a diverse nation in which our federal constitution allows every individual to practice their religion. The rich tapestry of India’s culture, from the sacred Kashi Vishwanath in Varanasi to the historic Vaikom Sree Mahadeva Temple in Vaikom, reflects the vibrant religious traditions that flourish from dawn to dusk across the country. From north to south, India’s cultural heritage is beautifully showcased through its beautiful religions. Despite this diversity, there are also frequent reports in the media highlighting certain individuals or communities who always express negativity, overshadowing the positive aspects of our society. Recently, in Karnataka’s Koppal, the district Tehsildar ordered the removal of decorative electric lamps from the streets of Gangavathi taluka, believed to be the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. These lamps featured designs of the ‘Gada’ and ‘Dhanush’ to symbolize the weapons of Lord Rama and Lord Hanuman.
