The Supreme Court has given a big relief to Arvind Kejriwal in the alleged liquor scam case in Delhi. The bench of Supreme Court Justice Suryakant and Ujjwal Bhuinya granted bail to Arvind Kejriwal. BJP’s reaction has come for the first time after he got bail. BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said that his argument in the court was that his arrest was illegal. The Supreme Court has said that the arrest of the appellant does not suffer from any illegality.
Gaurav Bhatia further said, ‘The arrest was constitutional. The Supreme Court has exposed the propaganda of corrupt, bigoted dishonest Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party. Arvind Kejriwal did not get relief from any court and no charge was dropped and he was not acquitted. There is no question of acquittal because the case will continue. AAP will have to answer why Arvind Kejriwal is not resigning’.

Bhatia further said, ‘BJP has zero tolerance against corruption. Corrupt Arvind Kejriwal will bow down one day and the public will take his resignation. On Kejriwal getting bail, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said that Arvind Kejriwal has also joined the Aam Aadmi Party’s bail club today; the Hon’ble Supreme Court, while granting bail, made a very serious comment that Kejriwal’s arrest was legal, which means that Kejriwal’s role and involvement in the liquor scam is 100 %’.
He said, ‘Getting bail is no exception, the biggest corrupt and criminals, whether it is Lalu Yadav or Madhu Koda, also got bail after scams but later got proven guilty in the judicial process and went to jail. The kind of restriction with which the Hon’ble Court has granted bail to Kejriwal, he should resign on moral grounds, Delhi does not want such a corrupt Chief Minister who does not even have the right to enter the “Chief Minister’s Office”.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the CBI on June 26. CM Kejriwal filed a petition against his arrest calling it illegal. On September 5, the court has reserved its decision in this case. The bench said that since the charge sheet has been filed in this case and the trial of this case does not seem to be completed in the near future, there is no point in keeping him in jail for a longer time.
Arvind Kejriwal will have to pay a bail bond of Rs 10 lakh. It is worth noting that in the alleged liquor scam in Delhi, a case was registered by both the agencies, CBI and Enforcement Directorate. In the ED case, the CM got interim bail in June itself.
