India, the birthplace of Sanatan Dharma, commonly known as Hinduism, has witnessed a long and intricate history. Over the centuries, numerous Hindu temples faced destruction, many of them seized or demolished during various periods of colonization. Mughals and other rulers, in particular, occupied or destroyed several temples to erect mosques and churches in their place. In a recent concerning development, Bhadrachalam, an ancient temple located in Telangana —home to the sacred and ancient Bhagavān Rāma temple—now confronts a serious threat to its sanctity and heritage.
