Unknown criminals have committed a major incident in Barhet of Sahibganj district of Jharkhand. A bomb exploded on the West Bengal Farakka MGR track at midnight on Tuesday, due to which the track has been damaged. After the incident, local police officials and NTPC officials are investigating.
According to the media reports, some unknown people exploded a bomb near MGR rail line pole number 40/1, located at a distance of about 500 meters from Ranga Ghuttu Tola under Barhet police station area of Sahibganj district on Wednesday night.
The villagers came to know about this early in the morning on Wednesday when they were passing from there. After this, the villagers informed the NTPC personnel and police officials about it. According to the villagers, a goods train going from Lalmatia to Farakka was about to pass through that track at around six in the morning, but before that the villagers saw the damaged railway track, due to which a major accident was averted.
After this, the NTPC personnel stopped that goods train near pole number 42/2. NTPC night guard Jitendra Sah said that he heard the sound of explosion during duty at around 11.30 pm on Tuesday night but he did not pay attention at that time due to the fear of tyre burst. Senior officials were informed as soon as the Munshi got the information of bomb blast on the track in the morning.
A wire has also been recovered at a distance of just 10 feet from the incident. After the incident, Barharwa SDPO Mangal Singh, Jamuda Rajmahal SDPO Vimal Tripathi, Barhet police station in-charge Pawan Kumar and other police forces have reached the spot and are investigating. In this regard, Sahibganj SP Amit Kumar Singh said that the police is investigating the matter. FSL team is also coming. Every point will be investigated. However, he has refused to consider it a Naxalite incident.
