The National Investigation Agency is conducting raids at several places across India including Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. This raid is being conducted in connection with the activities of the Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist organization.
On Saturday, NIA officials said that apart from Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, searches are being conducted at 22 places in 5 states including Maharashtra, UP, Assam and Delhi. He said that the matter is related to the activities of the Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist organization.
Officials said that NIA teams have been conducting searches in Baramulla district since this morning. At the same time, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) have jointly raided Sambhaji Nagar, Jalna and Malegaon in Nashik in Maharashtra since 4 am on Saturday and arrested four people involved in anti-national activities.
According to the media reports, the investigating agencies had received inputs about Jammu and Kashmir’s terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed helping the Maoists. Based on this input, the NIA and ATS teams jointly raided the four districts.
A leather trader named Samad Saudagar from Gandhi Nagar in Jalna, Maulana Syed Ilyas from Sambhaji Nagar, Maulana Hafiz from Kirpuda area and a person named MS Optical from Malegaon in Nashik district were also arrested after raiding a clinic.
