This year’s event aims to set a new world record by lighting 2.8 million earthen lamps along the banks of the Sarayu River. Additionally, special lamps will illuminate the Ram Temple. These candles are made to keep the temple free from soot and stains while maintaining a longer-lasting glow. For the temple’s inner sanctum, wax lamps crafted in the shape of elephants and fueled by clarified butter have been specially made.
