On Thursday, Shiv Sena UBT President Uddhav Thackeray released his party’s manifesto for the assembly elections in Mumbai. He said that a new international financial center will be set up in Dharavi when the Maha Vikas Aghadi government comes to power in the state.
Thackeray has also promised to restore the old pension scheme for government employees in the manifesto. Shiv Sena UBT President Uddhav Thackeray, in the presence of senior leader Subhash Desai and former minister Anil Parab, said that a joint manifesto will be released by the weekend on behalf of the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance for the Maharashtra assembly elections.
Releasing his party’s manifesto, Thackeray said, “We will cancel the Dharavi redevelopment project given to Adani. Employment is the most important issue for the youth due to rising unemployment. Therefore, after coming to power, we will build an international finance center in Dharavi to create employment opportunities.”
The manifesto released by Shiv Sena UBT promises to cancel the government order on cluster development in Mumbai’s fishing villages. Uddhav Thackeray said that when the MVA government comes to power, there will be free education for male students, affordable housing for Marathi community in Mumbai Metropolitan Region, dedicated women police station, crop price guarantee for farmers and prices will be kept stable for five essential commodities – sugar, pulses, oil, wheat and rice.
