Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju said on the issue of ‘one country and one election’ that PM Modi has made it clear that if India has to move forward on the path of development, then elections should be held only once in 5 years. After this, work should be done continuously for 5 years.
Kiren Rijiju, while supporting ‘One Nation, One Election’, said that a report on this issue has been prepared under the chairmanship of former President Dr. Ramnath Kovind. According to the media reports, this report will also be presented in Parliament soon.
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, calling one country and one election necessary, said that “We all are residents of one country. It is necessary for us to vote together and the country’s priority should be the same issue”. He further said that many necessary bills including one country and one election will be presented in the Parliament meeting on November 25.
Rijiju also believes that in a democracy everyone has the full right to protest and all of them have their own reason to protest. The argument of the opponents is that all the states should have the power to conduct elections but he has made it clear that ‘One Nation One Election’ has been taken keeping all the arguments in mind.
Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju says that another very important bill, the Waqf Amendment Act-2024, can also be introduced in the winter session of Parliament starting from November 25. He said that during the last House too, he had tabled this bill.
