The Hindu priest of ISKCON, Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari who has been under arrest for the past week in Bangladesh on sedition charges, had a chance to get bail on Tuesday as his bail plea hearing was scheduled. In a latest update, no lawyer appeared in the Bangladesh Court, postponing the hearing by a month. The bail plea hearing of Chinmoy Krishna Das, which was scheduled for today in a court in Bangladesh, has been postponed by a month following no lawyer appeared before the judge. The lawyer appearing for him were brutally attacked following which there was nobody to represent the Hindu monk.
According to the media reports, a total of 51 lawyers who were arguing for Chimnoy Krishna Das, were attacked, their chambers was vandalised and fake cases were slapped on them. This is the reason why no lawyers could appear today. The case hearing has been postponed for a month and will now take place on January 2. This show a complete failure of democracy, law and order in Bangladesh.
Advocate Ramen Roy, the lawyer who is defending Hindu priest Chinmoy Krishna Das, has been brutally attacked in Bangladesh and is in the ICU, ISKCON Kolkata spokesperson Radharamn Das claimed on Monday. According to Das, Islamists attacked Roy’s house and brutally attacked him who is now battling for life.
Taking to social media platform X, formerly Twitter, Radharam Das posted a photo of injured Advocate Ramen Roy, who is getting treatment in a hospital saying, “Please pray for Advocate Ramen Roy. His only ‘fault’ was defending Chinmoy Krishna Prabhu in court. Islamists ransacked his home and brutally attacked him, leaving him in the ICU, fighting for his life.”
