Chakravarti Rajagopalachari, fondly known as Rajaji, was born on December 10, 1878. A renowned lawyer, writer, politician, and philosopher, he was a key leader of India’s freedom struggle and a close associate of Mahatma Gandhi. Rajaji served as the first and last Indian Governor-General of independent India from June 21, 1948, to January 26, 1950.
