New Delhi, 13 January (H.S.): CAG report has become a big issue in Delhi Assembly elections. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called it unfortunate that Delhi government did not present CAG report in the assembly.
In a press conference held at the party headquarters on Monday, BJP national spokesperson Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi said that Delhi High Court has remarked that it is unfortunate that Delhi government is reluctant to present CAG report in the house. Now it has become even more clear that the unfortunate situation is not only in the matter of development works, environment and waterlogged roads, but also in constitutional matters. He said that there are about a dozen CAG reports, which the Delhi government has not placed in the Delhi Assembly. On January 11, 2025, Delhi Assembly Secretary said, “There is no use in placing the report in the house”.
He said that our 7 MLAs had written a letter to the Speaker of the Assembly asking why the CAG report is not being tabled in the Assembly? He said that the anarchist character of the Aam Aadmi Party is now pervading the constitutional institution and constitutional processes, which is very inappropriate and against the Constitution for the proper functioning of the government. He said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) believes in creating a ruckus instead of an answer, so it creates some ruckus every day. But the people of Delhi will answer AAP in this election.
It is noteworthy that the CAG report was not tabled in the Assembly. The CAG report has revealed that the Delhi government has suffered a revenue loss of Rs 2026 crore in the liquor policy. Along with this, rules have also been widely violated in the construction of the Chief Minister’s residence.
