Madrid, 14 January (H.S.): Spain and India have a long history of diplomatic and economic ties, and it seems that these relations will only continue to strengthen. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has announced that Spain will soon be opening a consulate in Bengaluru, calling it a “good sign” for the deepening of relations between the two countries.
This is especially significant as Jaishankar is currently on a two-day visit to Spain and made the announcement while interacting with the Indian community in Barcelona. The addition of a Spanish consulate in Bengaluru will not only make it easier for Indian citizens to obtain visas and other consular services, but it also shows a commitment to enhancing people-to-people relationships between the two nations.
The announcement of the consulate is a positive step towards strengthening the already strong ties between Spain and India and will undoubtedly have a beneficial impact on both countries.
