Aizawl, 16 January (HS): Mizoram Police and Intelligence Agency have succeeded in recovering a large number of weapons and ammunition in a joint operation near Saithah village of West Phaleng police station area of Mamit district of Mizoram. During this, a prominent leader of Myanmar’s Chin National Front (CNF) was arrested by the police. According to the police, during the operation, six AK-47 rifles, 10,050 cartridges and 13 magazines were recovered and five accused were arrested. These include a prominent leader of Myanmar’s Chin National Front (CNF). Preliminary investigation has revealed that these weapons were being smuggled between Myanmar’s CNF and Bangladesh’s UPDF-P. A case has been registered at West Phaleng police station in Mamit district.
