Donald Trump and JD Vance have taken the oath of office as US’ President and Vice President. Additionally, Donald Trump is the first American President since Grover Cleveland, to return to the White House after a gap of 4 years. This swearing in ceremony of Trump was quite different from his first swearing in ceremony. In 2016, he won the election as an outsider. This time around, he had much more support.
The Trumps started the night at the Commander in Chief Ball, where the president and first lady danced to “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” They were then joined on stage by the Vances. Trump signed an executive order halting offshore wind lease sales and pausing the issuance of approvals, permits and loans for both onshore and offshore wind projects.Taiwanese President Lai Ching-te congratulated Trump and Vance on their inauguration in a message on X.
“Taiwan looks forward to working with your administration to promote enduring freedom, peace & prosperity around the world. We wish you great success in the years ahead,” the statement read. Trump has signed an executive order suspending all US foreign assistance for 90 days or 3 months pending reviews to determine whether they are aligned with his policy goals. Billionaire and Tesla CEO Elon Musk is over the moon as Donald Trump assumes his duties as US President at the White House. Musk has been sharing several posts on his social media platform ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter) and in one of them, he has expressed his joy as Trump returns to the POTUS account on X.

Shared a little after midnight on X, Elon Musk’s post has been viewed by over 36 million users, liked by 684K and reshared by over 75,000 people; over 22,000 X users have commented on this post.
