Delhi, 24 January (H.S.) : Veteran Indian cricketer and former captain Kapil Dev has wished Team India ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy starting on February 19. Kapil was speaking at an event organized at Satya School in Gurugram on Thursday.
In a conversation with the media, the World Cup winning captain wished India all the best for the tournament. The ninth edition of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy is scheduled to be held in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates from February 19 to March 9. In this tournament of eight teams, 15 matches will be of 50 overs and will be played in Pakistan and Dubai.
The biggest match of the tournament will be played between two arch rivals India and Pakistan on February 23 in Dubai. India will start its campaign against Bangladesh on February 20. India’s last league match will be against New Zealand on March 2.
Group A of the tournament comprises current Champions Trophy holders and hosts Pakistan, India, New Zealand and Bangladesh, while Group B features Cricket World Cup 2023 champions Australia, Afghanistan, England and South Africa.
India’s group stage matches:
February 20 – India vs Bangladesh, Dubai
February 23 – India vs Pakistan, Dubai
March 2 – India vs New Zealand, Dubai.
