Anand(Gujrat), January 24 (HS): A big disclosure has been made in the raid of Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) in Sokhada GIDC area of Khambhat in Anand district. Narcotic powder worth about Rs 100 crore has been seized in the raid. After a survey of more than 60 officers of the squad, the ATS team has arrested a total of 6 people including the factory operator and taken them to Ahmedabad.
According to ATS sources, a factory was being operated by taking it on rent in Sokhada GIDC. About 100 kg of chemical powder of the substance used to make the sleeping drug Alprazolam has been seized from the factory. Its value is said to be around Rs 100 crore.
According to official sources, ATS raided Greenlife Industries in Sokhada GIDC area of Khambhat on Thursday. From Thursday morning, a survey of about 18 hours was conducted in Bulk Drugs and Manufacturing Green Life Industries. In this, the company owner, partners and employees were questioned till late Thursday evening. In this search operation, the ATS team also kept Anand’s SOG and FSL team with them. According to sources, this factory was started from Dev Diwali. Earlier, the company operators were involved in the injection business. Later they started chemical work. ATS had received information about the manufacture of chemical powder in it. Action was taken on the basis of this suspicion.
ATS investigation has revealed that 2 partners from Ahmedabad had started a pharma company. A sleeping pill called Alprazolam was made in the factory. 21 barrels of suspicious chemicals have also been seized in the ATS raid. Drugs were made by calling an engineer from Dahej in Bharuch district. The engineer has also been arrested.
